General Rules & Conditions of Entry For Events

Entering and Withdrawing

  • Dressage entries officially close 14 days prior to the event
  • After that time entry is at the discretion of the organiser
  • Generally online entries close 3-4 days before the event
  • Times are issued approximately 2 days prior to the evnet
  • Entries are processed by HorseMonkey and a £1.50 admin fee is applied by them to each booking
  • Prior to close of online entries we allow free transfer of entries to another show or class in the same show subject to space
  • After close of online entries NO refund or transfer is possible
  • Refunds attract at £2.50 administration charge and will in all circumstances less the £1.50 admin fee from Horse Monkey.

General Conditions

  • STALLIONS – are NOT permitted at any event other than those organised through British Dressage; they are NOT permitted at any “unaffiliated” event.
  • Kingswood EC reserve the right to cancel, add to or amend any of the Competitions as they see fit due to weather conditions etc
  • Kingswood EC will not be held liable for any losses suffered from cancelled or ammended bookings
  • Horses / Ponies must not be tied to lorries or trailers and left unattended
  • All unaffiliated events are run under the guidance of affiliated rules – BD
  • Horses visiting the centre for any reason are required to be compliant with current best practise regarding vaccinations. For the avoidance of doubt this includes flu – for which the horse must have had at least the first 2 correct vaccinations and in all cases be 7 days clear of any vaccination.
  • The centre has the right to request to see your horses correct passport, with vaccinations, at any time whilst on the centre. Failure to produce will result in you being asked to leave immediately without any refund.
  • The decision of the judge is final
  • Neither Kingswood Equestrian Centre, not any of its representative or staff shall be held liable for any accident, injury or damage or loss whatsoever, howsoever caused to any person animal or property at any time
  • Please dispose of your litter thoughtfully in bins provided
  • Please do not muck out into car parks
  • Smoking is only permitted in designated areas, and prohibited around the stable block
  • Dogs are not permitted at Horse Shows AT ALL
  • No competitor / rider shall allow a stallion for which they are responsible as owner, lessee, authorised agent or rider to compete or be prepared to compete, in any competition without taking adequate precautions to ensure competitors, officials or other members of the public are not put at risk of injury
  • Kingswood EC reserves the right to refuse entry to class and show ground
  • Photographers and videographers may attend competitions and events, competitors should be aware that by entering an event authorises their consent to these images being used in print & online by Kingswood EC and show sponsors as required.
  • Children must be under adult supervision at all times
  • All competitors/riders must wear correctly fastened hats to current approved safety standards and be correctly and appropriately dressed at all times when riding
  • Formal objections must be made within 30 minutes of event, accompanied by a deposit of £25, forfeited if the objection is over ruled. Constructive criticism is welcomed
  • Entry constitutes an agreement to be bound by and abide by these Rules
  • Kingswood EC reserves the right to refuse to accept cheques for events where pre-entry is required and DOES NOT accept cheques for payment on the day. The latter must be made in cash or by payment card.
